Adrienne RICH

Born in 1929 in Baltimore. Poet, essayist and feminist, who focused in her works on the issues of women's rights, racism, sexuality or economic justice.The winner of many awards, including: National Book Award for Driving into the Wreck (1973) and National Book Critics Circle Award for a series The School Among the Ruins (2004). Winner of Ruth Lilly Poetry Prize and Wallace Stevens Award and a two-time scholar of Guggenheim Foundation. She died in Santa Cruz in 2012.
